Boon boat parade - August 2003
Every summer near the end of August, Lake Boon has a Water Carnival. One of the high lights is the boat parade. People decorate their boats in a variety of creative ways. Here are a few shots of the other boats as we sailed the Solartanic in the parade.
A stern wheel steamer passes in front of us.
A canoe is transformed into a four masted sailing ship.
Its a little obscure from this angle, but one of the neighbors turned their dingy into an iceberg to sail along side the Solartanic. That's a stuffed penguin on top.
After leading the parade around the lake, the organizers throw a big party and hand out small prizes.
